šŸ›”ļøšŸ’‰ Keep your child protected this winter!

With the new school year underway, West Northamptonshire Council is urging parents and carers to make sure children and young people are up to date with their vaccinations.

School pupil

āœ… Vaccines help strengthen your child’s immune system and protect against preventable illnesses—especially important as we spend more time indoors this winter.

šŸ“… What’s included in the school-age vaccination schedule:

  • 4-in-1 pre-school booster (age 3y 4m)
  • Annual flu vaccine (Reception to Year 11)
  • COVID-19 (for immunosuppressed children aged 6 months+)
  • HPV (Year 8)
  • MMR (Year 8, if not already vaccinated)
  • 3-in-1 booster (Year 9)
  • MenACWY (Year 9)
  • Chickenpox (ages 6–11 from Jan 2026 via GP)

šŸ“ Clinics may be held at school, your GP, or community settings. If your child is invited, please attend—and if you think they’ve missed a vaccine, contact your GP.

šŸ—£ļø ā€œVaccinations play a vital role in protecting children and young people… If you have questions, speak to your healthcare professional to make informed decisions.ā€ – Cllr Laura Couse, Cabinet Member for Adult Care & Public Health
