On Saturday 20th September, from 10.30am to 5.00pm, visitors are invited to enjoy a full day of free activities celebrating Brixworth’s rich history and heritage.

The highlight of the day will be guided tours of All Saints Church, offering a unique opportunity to explore one of the finest surviving examples of Anglo-Saxon architecture in the country. Tours will take place at 11.00am, 1.00pm and 3.00pm, with booking available via the Friends of Brixworth Church website.

In addition, walking tours of the village Blue Plaque Trail will be led by local historian Mike Nice at 11.45am and 3.45pm, with no booking required.

The Heritage Centre will be open throughout the day, serving hot and cold drinks alongside a tempting selection of homemade cakes. Visitors will also be able to enjoy two special exhibitions:

  • Some of Brixworth’s Beautiful Buildings, presented by Brixworth History Society.
  • A photography display showcasing Brixworth scenery and places of interest, curated by Brixworth Photographic Society.

Family visitors will be pleased to know there will be a children’s scavenger hunt, while free on-site parking (NN6 9BZ) will make the event easy to access.

All Saints Church will also be featured on the Northampton Heritage Transport Bus Route, allowing visitors to combine their visit with other heritage attractions across the county.

This promises to be a wonderful day out for residents and visitors alike, celebrating the unique history and community spirit of Brixworth.
