Brixworth Parish Council Reflects on Holocaust Memorial Day

Today, we pause to remember the six million Jewish men, women and children murdered during the Holocaust, and the millions more who suffered under Nazi persecution and in subsequent genocides in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia and Darfur.

The theme for Holocaust Memorial Day 2026, “Bridging Generations,” reminds us that the responsibility of remembrance does not end with survivors. It lives on through their families and through all of us. By learning and sharing these stories, we build a bridge between memory and action, ensuring the lessons of the past guide a future free from hatred and prejudice.

At 8 PM on 27 January, join the national moment of reflection by lighting a candle and placing it in your window to honour those who were murdered and to stand in solidarity against prejudice today.
