The Parish Council would like to create a separate page on the website in respect of current projects in the village. Further details are to follow.
Daventry District Council and the developers of the Saxon Rise development negotiated what is known as a Section 106 Agreement. Under this agreement the developers provided a substantial allocation of funds to improve sporting and recreational facilities in the village.
The total funds are £254,425 but the funding must be spent in accordance with the terms of the agreement for indoor and outdoor sports as well as parks and gardens.
In line with the terms of the agreement, Brixworth Parish Council have approved the use of s.106 funding for the following projects:-
- St David’s Multi Use Games Area (MUGA)
- St David’s landscaping
- Community Centre refurbishment for indoor sports
A dedicated page for each of the these projects will be updated on the website shortly.
The Parish Council will also provide details of other projects such as the Wildflower planting scheme and the Sakura Project (the planting of 10 Cherry Trees gifted to the UK by Japan).
